Services & Fees

Fees

My fees are £25 for the first initial assessment session and then £48.50 per session for face to face, on-line and telephone.

Payments can be made by cash, card or bank transfer.

The session

Our sessions will be 50 minutes in length and can be every week or every two weeks at a mutually agreed time. I also offer monthly sessions if suitable.

Once you have made contact via text, phone call or email (see Contact) I will contact you and we can arrange a time to meet. This will give you an opportunity to meet with me, discuss what you are looking for and ask as many questions as you need. This first session will be charged at half price.

If the relationship feels comfortable, we will decide on a course of action. This includes whether you wish to agree to a set number of sessions or whether you would like an open-ended contract

Adult Counselling and Psychotherapy

I work in a person-centred way so I will be closely guided by what you need from moment to moment and I will tailor your therapy to suit your individual needs.

You may have a specific aim for what you wish to achieve from therapy and together we will work towards this goal. However, it may be that you wish to simply explore why you don't feel 'right'.

Some of my clients just need a confidential space each week to offload and ‘think aloud' to someone objective. We are so busy in our everyday lives that we can feel as though we do not wish to burden our friends and loved ones. My sessions will provide the opportunity to be really listened to.

Issues I work with include:

Trauma

States of anxiety, stress, depression, lack of motivation

Intrusive thoughts

Difficulties at work or in a relationship

Loneliness

Identity – gender, religion, sexuality

Feeling disconnected with yourself or friends and family

Loss, grief and bereavement

Life stages – empty nest or separation and divorce etc.

Feeling caught in the same behaviour patterns

Feeling 'stuck' or 'trapped'

Feeling held back by experiences from your past

Low confidence and self-esteem

Counselling Techniques that I may use to help you include:

CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy)

Psycho-education information

Self-help strategies

Sand-tray therapy

Guided imagery

Attachment theory

Transactional analysis therapy

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a proven approach to process traumatic memories that feel "stuck" or continue to impact your daily life. EMDR helps you work through challenging emotions, bodily sensations, and beliefs tied to past trauma.

I work in accordance with the Ethical Principles and Codes of Professional Conduct of the Northern Guild of Psychotherapy.

Couples Therapy

The objective of couples counselling is to help you rebuild your relationship.

Our sessions will provide you both with an opportunity to talk about your issues within a safe and comfortable environment.

You will learn how to communicate more effectively with each other and improve your conflict resolution. Our sessions will allow you to work through unresolved issues together.
